Repair Warranty Options

Standard Warranty (Free)

  • Coverage: 90 days
  • Includes: Labor involved in the repair
  • Details: This warranty covers any issues directly related to the repair performed. If a part we replaced or a repair we performed fails within 90 days, we will fix it at no additional cost. If a new part is needed, the cost may be covered based on the manufacturer warranty. If the manufacturer warranty has expired, the customer may be responsible for the part cost. If the issue is unrelated to the repair, a $30 diagnostic fee will be charged. Warranty covers labor only.


Extended Warranty Options (Paid)

Extended Warranty - 6 Months

  • Price: $30
  • Coverage: 6 months
  • Includes: Labor involved in the repair
  • Details: Extends the coverage period to six months. Covers any issues related to the repairs performed during the initial service, including future diagnostic fees. If a new part is needed, the cost may be covered based on the manufacturer warranty. If the manufacturer warranty has expired, the customer may be responsible for the part cost. If the issue is unrelated to the repair, no diagnostic fee is charged, and standard pricing applies for any further repairs. Warranty covers labor only.


Extended Warranty - 1 Year

  • Price: $50
  • Coverage: 1 year
  • Includes: Labor involved in the repair
  • Details: Provides comprehensive protection for one year, covering all repairs related to the initial service, including future diagnostic fees. If a new part is needed, the cost may be covered based on the manufacturer warranty. If the manufacturer warranty has expired, the customer may be responsible for the part cost. If the issue is unrelated to the repair, no diagnostic fee is charged, and standard pricing applies moving forward. Warranty covers labor only.


Additional Details

Conditions:

  • Misuse Definition: Warranties are void if damage results from non-standard usage, unauthorized modifications, or repairs performed by unauthorized personnel.
  • Physical and Water Damage: Labor for repairs due to physical or water damage is covered; however, parts damaged due to these causes will incur a cost. Minimized through certified refurbished components where possible and agreed upon.
  • Claims: Easy claim process with a quick turnaround for repairs.
  • Exclusions: These warranties do not cover new issues unrelated to the original repair or any physical damage incurred after the repair.


Custom PC Build Warranty Plans

Standard Warranty (Included)

  • Labor Warranty: 90 days
  • Parts Warranty: As per manufacturer’s warranty
  • Coverage: Issues related to assembly and initial setup
  • Details: Ensures any problems from the build process are addressed within the first 90 days. Covers issues from normal use and does not cover physical or water damage. Parts are covered by their respective manufacturer warranties. No diagnostic fee.


Extended Warranty Options (Paid)

Extended Labor and Parts Warranty - 1 Year

  • Price: $80
  • Coverage: 1 year
  • Includes: All labor, parts, and systems installed involved in the original building process with issues regarding normal use.
  • Details: Extends coverage for labor and parts associated with your custom PC build, including future diagnostic fees. Parts are subject to the manufacturer warranty. If the manufacturer warranty has expired, part cost may be eligible for our shop Price Replacement Limitations.


Comprehensive Protection Plan - 2 Years

  • Price: $150
  • Coverage: 2 years for both labor and parts
  • Includes: All labor and parts involved in the original build due to failures from normal use.
  • Details: Provides extensive coverage, protecting your custom PC for two years, including both labor and parts costs for any failures under normal usage conditions. Parts are subject to the manufacturer warranty. If the manufacturer warranty has expired, part cost may be eligible for our shop Price Replacement Limitations. Covers future diagnostic fees.


Additional Details

Conditions:

  • Advanced Configurations Definition: Includes custom setups involving overclocking, custom water-cooling systems, and other modifications beyond standard specifications done by the shop.
  • Part Replacement Limitations: For parts costing over $400, the customer will be responsible for 50% of the cost, and the shop will cover the remaining 50%, but only if the manufacturer’s warranty has expired. This co-payment will be clearly communicated and agreed upon before any repairs are undertaken.
  • Exclusions: Warranties do not cover new issues unrelated to the original build or any physical or water damage incurred after assembly.
  • Physical and Water Damage: Labor for repairs due to physical or water damage is covered; however, parts damaged due to these causes will incur a cost. Minimized through certified refurbished components where possible and agreed upon.


Transport Warranty Guarantee

Coverage

  • Scope: The transport warranty covers any damage to the device that occurs during transportation to and from our shop when using our Scheduled Pickup or Same-Day Pickup services.
  • Duration: The warranty is valid for the duration of the transport process; from the time the device is picked up until it is returned to the customer.

Conditions

  • Pre-Transport Documentation: Customers must provide pictures or videos of the device before transport to document its condition. This is required to validate any claims of transport-related damage.
  • Exclusions:
  • The warranty does not cover damage that is unrelated to the transport process, such as pre-existing conditions or issues that arise during the repair process.
  • The warranty does not apply if pictures or videos are not provided prior to transport.
  • Damage resulting from improper packaging by the customer, if the customer is responsible for packing the device for pickup.

Claims Process

  • Inspection: Upon pickup, our technician will inspect the device and confirm its condition. Before the device leaves the shop, it will be tested and inspected again. The same process will be repeated upon delivery to the customer.
  • Reporting: Any damage discovered during transport must be reported within 24 hours of receiving the device.
  • Resolution: If transport-related damage is confirmed, we will repair the device at no additional cost to the customer. If the device is beyond repair, we will provide a replacement device of similar specifications or compensate the customer up to the market value of the device.

Limitations

  • Value Cap: The maximum compensation for transport-related damage is limited to the market value of the device at the time of the incident.
  • Proof of Ownership: Customers may be required to provide proof of ownership and the original purchase receipt for the device in the event of a claim.

Whether through phone or email, we provide personalized advice and troubleshooting to help you with your specific problems. Our goal is to diagnose potential issues and offer solutions that can resolve them immediately or guide you toward the right path for a fix.


During the consultation, we can:

  • Troubleshoot your computer issues and offer possible on-the-spot solutions.
  • Answer general questions about your tech, including custom builds, hardware upgrades, and other related topics.
  • Provide guidance and advice to help you understand your tech better and keep it running smoothly.


Please note that while we can't perform repairs during the consultation, we're here to help you understand the problem and determine the best steps to take next. Whether you need quick advice or detailed answers, The Tech Terminal is ready to assist you with all your tech inquiries.

The shop will reach out by phone when available. If the issue can't be solved after a brief call, we will recommend further services. If it is not stated that the customer requires a phone call, a return email will be sent as the default consultation method.

Device Transportation Methods:

(Curbside Pickup - Middle of Building)

How It Works

At The Tech Terminal, we offer three convenient methods for getting your devices to and from our shop. Our goal is to provide a seamless and efficient service experience for all our customers. Here’s how each method works:

1. Scheduled Pickup $9.99

  • Window: Mon-Fri--8am to 6pm, Saturday--12:30pm to 6pm, Sunday--Closed
  • How It Works: Schedule a next-day pickup or choose a day that suits you. Our van will arrive within the scheduled window to pickup your device(s).
  • Process: You’ll be assigned slot on our pickup list. Pickup times may vary but the shop aims for timely service. Sometimes the list may be full, in that case, we can schedule a pickup for the next immediate spot.
  • Details: We will contact you ahead of arrival so you can get your device(s) in order. All pickups are curbside/door-front; we will not enter your home to plug in or unplug devices. Make sure to include all power cables, adapters, logins, and any other relevant components.


2. Same Day Pickup $17.99

  • Window: Mon-Fri--8am-6pm, Saturday--12:30 to 6pm, Sunday--Closed
  • How It Works: For urgent needs, request a same-day pickup. This service relies on driver availability, but we strive to reach you the same day.
  • What if?  If same-day service is not available, your request will be tagged with a Priority Pickup Label to ensure your device is picked up the very next day. We will schedule a next-day pickup at the base pickup charge of $9.99.
  • Details: Similar to scheduled pickups, we will call ahead to coordinate a hassle-free pickup. All pickups are curbside.


3. Dropoff at The Shop

  • Window: Mon-Fri--8:30am to 3:30pm, Saturday--8am to 12pm, Sunday--Closed
  • Flexibility: Drop-offs have the most flexible window. Simply call ahead, visit our shop, and drop off your device.
  • Process: Contact the shop and schedule a drop-off, visit the shop and call us when you're here or close by so we can meet at your car or in front of the building to get your device(s).
  • Details: Once the device is in our hands at the shop, we will begin service. We will contact you when the device is done and ready to be picked up. Dropped off devices are not eligible for shop return service unless agree upon otherwise.


Important Information for All Methods:

Return Service

For Scheduled/Same Day Pickup Services:

  • When service is complete our shop will return the device(s). We will contact you ahead of time to ensure a hassle-free experience. All returns use a meet-at-curb system or can be dropped off on your porch with picture confirmation if agreed upon. We will not enter your home to plug in or unplug any devices.

For Devices Dropped off at The Shop:

  • When your service is complete, we will contact you to come pick up your device. Devices dropped off are NOT ELIGIBLE for our shops return services unless agreed otherwise. When picking up your device, call us when you arrive, and we will bring the device out to you for curbside return.

Home Entry:

  • For safety and efficiency, we will not enter homes to plug in or unplug devices. Please have all devices ready for pick up and packed with their proper wires, essential login information, and any other important information you think we may need.

Payment:

  • Payment is required before store pickup or return delivery, after service is complete. A confirmation email will be sent with a receipt with options to pay online or through your phone. Since we are not a storefront, we typically don't have cash change on hand at the shop or on our drivers.
